✨New blog post✨ The second part of my wandering around in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Some of you have asked me what work I have done inside of the Pajero.
96 days. 6’497 km (4’037 miles). Only one plan: no plans. Just one ‘rule’: no motorways. Zero mechanical issues. Started with one cat, ended with two.
I love these landscapes but winter doesn’t allow me to travel as I would like. I like adventure but since I’m traveling alone I’m quite cautious: getting stuck somewhere because of the snow isn’t in my plans; staying in the cities neither. I’m taking a break. I’ll continue my adventure again when the weather conditions will permit it. For now I just breaaaathe 🎵🎵
I reached Bulgaria and the snow also arrived. I love the snowy landscapes, the fresh and clean air … just getting out of the sleeping bag in the morning is not very easy …
I spent more than a month in Serbia. The rain, humidity and cold did not make things easy. Meeting people I met on my bicycle trip, getting to know friends of friends and getting in touch with hospitable, big-hearted locals gave me a lot of energy. Thanks Serbia I think I will see you again in a milder season.
💫New blog post about Bosnia and Herzegovina 💫 link in bio
It’s no mystery that in winter the tourist season in certain places is over. Everything is closed. Nature sleeps. The rivers are quiet. Fog, rain and damp cold penetrate the bones. Sporadic encounters with locals chopping wood for the winter. Sometimes it is difficult for me to find a place to finally take a shower.
Almost perfect spherical stones…some say that the balls have supernatural origin. Legends tell of tears of Kraljevic Marko (medieval Serbian hero) that fell from the sky. Others sustain that the spheres symbolize the solar system that aliens scattered on this region. There are those who claim that the balls have healing and miraculous powers. “Put your hand on the ball, make a wish… it will be fulfilled!”
Welcome to Serbia 💫 Amazing Uvac Canyon ✨
The team.
A gift. The clouds. The light that changed with every hour. The sea of fog. The breathtaking scenery. The curious fox. This was a gift.
Wonder. Wherever I laid my eyes only wonder. My last days in Bosnia and Herzegovina … just wow! wow! wow!
We had only met for a few minutes. Routine introductions and small talk.
Sunset with the giants. Daorson.
Daorson. The capital of the Illyrian tribe Daorsi, (ancient inhabitants of the Balkans) who lived in the Neretva river valley from 300 BC to 50 BC.
“And those who were seeing dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music” Friedrich Nietzsche
In Bosnia and Herzegovina there are wild horses … well, actually they are as wild as my cat: they are very curious and now used to being fed by tourists. In the evening I was literally surrounded by these magnificent animals.
